Optometrists will first understand patients' requirements and expectations for contact lenses wear Step 2: Eye measurements such as prescription testing and corneal curvatures will be assessed Thorough eye health check to make sure patients are suitable for contact lenses Step 3: Teaching of insertion and removal of contact lenses, usually takes about half an hours time depending on how fast the patients manage to insert and remove confidently on their own Step 4: Perform contact lens fit assessment to assess the functionality and the fitting of contact lenses on the cornea Educate patients about the benefits and risks of contact lens wear, as well as advising on proper techniques on the safe use, cleaning and storage of the lenses. Step 5: After care visits will be scheduled to follow up on patients' adaptability to contact lenses, also to check on the contact lenses fit and patients' eye health. This is a good opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns that patients are having. |
